PAL Learn to Skate serves approximately 150 youth each year in the City of Buffalo. The program teaches the fundamentals of ice skating, an activity that few inner city children have any opportunity to experience. The winter program spans seven Saturdays

*PAL Learn to Skate serves approximately 150 youth each year in the City of Buffalo. The program teaches the fundamentals of ice skating, an activity that few inner city children have any opportunity to experience. The winter program spans seven Saturdays in December and January at Cazenovia and Riverside Rinks in Buffalo. In addition, 50 youths participate in the summer Learn to Skate program at Lafayette Rink during the City’s Community Center Summer Day Camps in July and August for four weeks of lessons.

Program funders include the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, the Buffalo Old Boys Hockey Association and Labatt USA.

                                                     

Some info about the tournament:

  • $250 tournament fee (non refundable)
  • four on four play, 6 person roster
  • no goalie, 6" high x 6' wide nets
  • guaranteed 3 games
  • 14 divisions of 8 teams each: 112 total teams
  • on the lake, in the cold, real hockey
